In other words: Retinitis Pigmentosa. Does anyone else but me on the zone have it? Curious to know :)

I don't, but my eye condition is a cousin to RP as I was told.

Thats cool you know people with RP. I only know of 3 others who have it. One's younger then me, 17 I think a family friend of someone who worked with dad had asked me to do research etc. Never heard about the girl ever since, she has Ushers Syndrome, just think having to be deaf, then later on someday be totally blind from RP. The other is in her 30s, she I think is starting to lose hers of RP. And the 3rd I met at a party last week. It's a small world!

I don't have RP. I have microphthalmia which is a rare condition meaning small eyes. As a result, I wear prosthetics.

I know this topic is old, but I was bored and so I decided to go through old posts, and I found this one. I have RP. I am one of the rare cases though, or so I have been told by eye doctors. Usually, when a person has RP, they have vision, but start losing it when they get older. Well, this didn't happen with me. I was born blind. I do have some vision, but not a whole lot. I mean, I can't read print or anything like that. I read Braille, use a guide dog, and a screen reader on my computer. When someone asks me to explain to them what I can see, it's kind of hard. How do you explain such a thing to someone who can see just fine?
